Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a Structural Welding Foreman for Carrier New Construction. You will supervise and train trades personnel, translate broad strategies into concrete actions, and ensure compliance with drawings, procedures and safety standards.
Eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus; strong leadership in manufacturing and shipbuilding environments is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Apprenticeship or High School with 4 years manufacturing/shipbuilding/military experience
- Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years relevant experience
- Experience supervising skilled trades and managing training programs
Responsabilités
- Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel.
- Trains employees to improve quality and productivity and develops training procedures.
- Breaks broad strategies into practical action plans and ensures adherence to drawings and procedures.
- Oversees manufacturing, installation, operation, testing and process steps with financial impact; monitors budgets and performance.
