Job summary
Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a qualified Foreman for Carrier New Construction. The role focuses on supervising welders and trades, ensuring adherence to drawings, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent manufacturing experience
- Apprentice Certification or equivalent
- High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience
- Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience
Responsibilities
- Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge.
- Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.
- Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures.
