Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a Foreman for the 3rd shift to supervise semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel. You will train staff, implement action plans and ensure compliance with drawings and procedures.

Eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Requires a Bachelor’s, Apprentice Certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades or military service; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• Apprentice Certification or related technical credentials
• High School with 4 years of manufacturing/shipbuilding/military experience
• Associate Degree in a trade/technical field with 3 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates trades personnel according to skill and knowledge.
• Trains employees and develops procedures to improve productivity.
• Ensures compliance with drawings, procedures and safety standards.
