Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a Foreman to supervise and coordinate trades personnel. The role includes training, ensuring adherence to drawings and procedures, and managing safety and productivity on shifts.

Eligible candidates can receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus; relocation is not provided and telework is not available. U.S. citizenship may be required for some positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, or Apprenticeship certification, or equivalent military/manufacturing experience.
• High School diploma with 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience.
• Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge.
• Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.
• Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures.
