Job summary

Cust-O-Fab is seeking an experienced Structural Welder to join our manufacturing team in Oklahoma. You will cut, fit, tack weld, finish weld, and assemble structural steel parts in accordance with blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of shop fabrication experience, strong GMAW/FCAW skills, and the ability to pass weld qualifications. Safety-minded and team-oriented, you will work to meet production schedules and maintain high quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in shop fabrication and welding of structural steel parts and sub-assemblies.
• Ability to pass and maintain required weld qualifications.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, dimensions and specifications.
• Ability to independently fit, tack, weld, and assemble structural components according to prints.
• Ability to weld within WPS/PQR requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Cut, fit, tack weld, finish weld, and assemble structural steel parts and sub-assemblies as per blueprints and specs.
• Perform GMAW and FCAW welding processes to fabricate structural components.
• Set up and operate welding equipment per procedures and WPS/PQR.
• Inspect welds and correct sub-standard welds.
• Complete finishing tasks such as grinding and sanding as needed.
• Work safely and efficiently to meet production schedules and hours estimates.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to achieve goals.
• Assist with basic assembly, material handling, and shop cleanup.
