Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• AWS Certification a plus.
• 2+ years’ experience in structural welding.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must be detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to interpret instructions in various formats (written, oral, diagram, schedule).
• Able to work in a team environment and be computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Selects, measures, cuts, and joins metals to specifications.
• Prepares metals and surfaces for safe assembly.
• Interprets blueprints accurately.
• Cleans and inspects welding equipment.
• Determines correct gas ratios for welding.
• Tests weld strength during and after projects.
• Diagnoses issues and reports defects to supervision.
• Maintains safety and housekeeping per SOPs and policies.
• Performs other duties as required by production needs.
