Job summary

Tate Inc. is seeking a Welder in Virginia for on-site manufacturing of metal products. The role involves welding, cutting, and assembling components, reading blueprints, and ensuring weld quality. You will collaborate across shifts with safety and production teams to meet project specs.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of welding experience, basic math skills, and proficiency with measuring tools. AWS certification is preferred, and the position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • AWS Certification preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in structural welding.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, efficient, and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions (written, oral, diagram, schedule).
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Team-oriented environment experience.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

Responsibilities

  • Selects, measures, cuts, and joins metals to specifications.
  • Prepares metals and surfaces to ensure safe assembly.
  • Interprets specifications and blueprints accurately.
  • Keeps welding equipment and tools clean and inspected.
  • Determines correct gas ratios.
  • Tests weld strength during and after production.
  • Troubleshoots issues as needed.
  • Reports defects and quality concerns to supervision.
  • Maintains safety and cleanliness per SOPs.
