Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks a Structural Water Engineer to design structures for water purification and treatment facilities, while collaborating across disciplines to deliver resilient infrastructure. You will broaden your design experience by working on diverse market sectors and guiding project teams in meeting client needs.

The role emphasizes leadership of engineers and technicians, construction-phase duties, and adherence to BV standards, with a hybrid work model and opportunities for relocation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Master of Engineering or Master of Science from ABET-accredited Structural Engineering program.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex structural analysis and calculations for water/wastewater treatment plants and related facilities.
• Supervise Structural Engineers and Technicians on drawings and specifications.
• Lead larger production teams and serve as the responsible charge for projects.
• Perform construction-phase duties including site visits, RFIs, and review of submittals.
• Prepare design fee estimates and monitor progress against budget/schedule; implement BV QC requirements.
• Coordinate work with architects and other discipline engineers.
• Lead teams to execute projects with construction values up to $100M.
• Provide guidance on design guides, standards, and engineering codes.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET-accredited program)
