Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC is seeking an Associate Designer to design electrical, civil, structural and construction-related engineering systems for overhead and subsurface utility projects. You will own the design lifecycle from initiation to closeout, deploying creative solutions and ensuring compliance with client specs and codes.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, Associate degree (preferred), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related technical field preferred.
• Related technical certificates in CADD and related software platforms preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in interdisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in Office365 and modern engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering systems for overhead and subsurface utility projects in compliance with specifications and codes.
• Own all phases of the design lifecycle from initiation through construction completion and closeout.
• Prepare detailed engineering and construction documents using AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and enterprise asset management platforms.
• Analyze topographical and utility data, and develop pole loading models using structural software.
• Prepare reports and studies to clearly present technical information to clients.
• Collaborate with project management and engineering leadership to manage project risk.
