Job summary

HBK Engineering is a full-service engineering design firm seeking a Designer to develop overhead and subsurface utility designs with increased independence and leadership responsibilities. You will address electrical, structural, civil, and construction challenges with minimal oversight while mentoring junior staff throughout the design lifecycle.

The role includes using AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and related tools to generate detailed drawings and documents.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related technical field (Preferred)
• Related technical certificates of achievement in CADD and related software platforms (Preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in design and related engineering fields

Responsibilities

• Perform CADD design for overhead and subsurface utility projects across multiple disciplines.
• Own all phases of the design lifecycle from initiation through construction completion.
• Coach and mentor entry-level staff on design practices and standards.
• Prepare engineering and construction documents using AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and asset management platforms.
• Communicate complex engineering concepts to project teams and clients.
• Manage time to meet project milestones and complete field walkdowns when required.
• Travel up to 100% as needed.
