Job summary

Drake-Williams Steel in Omaha, NE is seeking a detail-oriented Material Coordinator to expedite the delivery of steel, shop drawings, CNC files, materials and supplies to maximize production throughput and meet production and delivery schedules.

You will work with detailing, shop personnel, and vendors to track deliveries, prepare shop releases and BOMs, and ensure accurate CNC programs and revisions are available for fabrication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• College and/or experience working in a related field is desired but not required.
• Structural Steel experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Use CNC files and programs for fabrication and make adjustments as needed.
• Track and ensure timely delivery of materials for jobs.
• Distribute drawings and information to shop and other departments.
• Resolve obvious errors and missing information on shop drawings before release.
• Create shop releases and generate cutting lists, CNC programs, and BOMs.
• Revise shop releases, cutting lists, BOMs, and CNC programs as necessary.
• Maximize CNC program utilization with shop personnel.
• Coordinate material shipments to outside vendors for processing or services.
• Communicate changes to shop drawings promptly and maintain audit records.
