Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of six months welding experience or a one-year welding technology program.
• Ability to read shop drawings and interpret weld symbols.
• Ability to pass Drake-Williams Steel welding and fitting tests.
• Maintenance of AWS certification is required.
• Ability to operate cranes, forklifts and hand tools safely.
• Willingness to work overtime and meet production schedules.
• Adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Physical ability to perform lifting and bending as described.

Responsibilities

• Weld steel parts per shop drawings and DWS quality standards.
• Identify shapes, sizes, tolerances and weld accordingly.
• Preheat or cut pieces with a hand torch when needed.
• Clean welds using grinders and brushes; remove slag.
• Operate forklifts, jib cranes, and overhead cranes for material handling.
• Fabricate sub-pieces as directed and attend meetings as required.
• Maintain focus on quality and on-time workflow; work 40 hours weekly.
