Job summary

Drake-Williams Steel, Inc. is seeking an experienced fabricator to produce structural steel components in our Omaha shop. You will interpret cut lists and shop drawings, set up machines, and ensure dimensions meet specifications.

Responsibilities include operating forklifts and cranes, moving heavy loads, and following safety procedures. Minimum six months in steel fabrication is required, with reliability in scheduled hours.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum six months of experience in a steel manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic operations.
• Ability to interpret cutting lists, shop orders and shop drawings.
• Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate parts per cut lists and shop drawings, complying with AISC standards and machine capabilities.
• Make adjustments to machines to ensure dimensions match shop drawings.
• Identify and flag cut list or shop drawing errors early in fabrication.
• Move materials using forklifts, jib cranes, overhead cranes, conveyors, and transfers.
• Attend meetings and work scheduled hours reliably.
