Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months welding experience or a one-year welding program.
• Ability to read shop drawings and interpret weld symbols and AISC code.
• Ability to pass Drake-Williams Steel welding and fitting tests.
• Ability to operate cutting torch and grinders safely.

Responsibilities

• Weld structural, plate and miscellaneous steel per shop drawings and DWS requirements.
• Identify shapes, sizes and tolerances; interpret weld symbols.
• Preheat and cut using hand torch when required; clean welds.
• Operate forklifts, jib cranes and overhead cranes to move materials.
• Attend meetings and work scheduled hours; maintain safety and quality.
