Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent Structural Steel Estimator in Pottstown, PA to prepare detailed cost estimates for diverse projects. You will review architectural/structural drawings, create 3D Tekla EPM models, and coordinate with project managers and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely bids.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and 5+ years in structural steel estimating; strong Excel skills and knowledge of AISC standards are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in structural steel estimating within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in Tekla EPM software and familiarity with AISC codes and standards.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed, accurate, and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects.
• Review and interpret architectural and structural blueprints, specifications, and design drawings.
• Utilize Tekla EPM software to create and modify 3D models of structural steel components.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project scope and requirements.
• Conduct site visits and gather information necessary for estimating purposes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, pricing, and new materials in the market.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals, ensuring they meet client requirements and deadlines.
• Monitor project progress to identify any deviations from the estimate and suggest corrective actions.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on cost-related issues.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Structural Steel Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates that reflect the cost of structural steel components for various construction projects. This role is essential to the success of our projects, from the initial bid to the final build. The successful candidate will be part of a team that ensures our projects stay within budget while meeting our high standards of quality and safety. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in the construction industry, specifically with structural steel.

6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
7. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
10. Ability to work well in a team and independently, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
