Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Structural Staff Engineer (EIT) to join our team. You will contribute to structural design development for dams, hydraulics, bridges, and other water resources projects across North America.

The role requires hands-on analysis, drafting, and coordination with licensed engineers. Travel up to 20% of time is expected as sites and client locations vary; a collaborative, problem-solving mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• FE exam passed or in progress.
• 0-5 years of structural design experience.
• Water resources or dam project experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of codes such as ASCE is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish project-specific design criteria using structural design codes and jurisdictional requirements.
• Gather, review, and organize historical project information (drawings, reports, specs).
• Prepare Design Documentation Reports and technical memos summarizing project criteria and methods.
• Perform structural computations and analysis using hand calculations and software.
• Develop project details and drawings by hand drafting or CAD software.
