Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Structural Staff Engineer (EIT) to contribute to design development for a range of water-related projects, including dams, penstocks, and hydroelectric facilities. You will work under a licensed engineer to perform calculations, prepare reports, and develop construction drawings.

Requirements include a bachelor (and optionally a master's) in structural/civil engineering, FE exam completion, and 0–5+ years' design experience; travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• Taken and passed the FE exam; working towards PE licensure is a plus.
• 0-5 years+ of structural design experience; water resource experience a plus.
• Knowledge of relevant industry and federal codes and standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish project-specific design criteria using relevant codes and jurisdictional requirements.
• Gather, review, and organize historical project information including drawings and reports.
• Prepare Design Documentation Reports and technical memorandums summarizing criteria and methodologies.
• Perform structural computations by hand and with software following current codes.
• Develop project details and drawings using hand drafting or CAD.
