Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Structural Engineering Department at our headquarters in Wall Township, NJ. This role involves design through construction, with opportunities for greater technical and project responsibility within a growing firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
• 5 years of structural engineering experience in a consulting environment.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of New Jersey required.
• Working knowledge of building codes and structural analysis/design software.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, and delivery of structural engineering projects for commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential buildings.
• Assist in design and analysis of structural systems including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
• Prepare structural calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and related documentation.
• Coordinate structural designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other disciplines.
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with senior engineers and project managers.
• Support construction administration activities, including shop drawing review, RFIs, and field observations.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Contribute to maintaining high‑quality project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Engage in mentorship and professional development opportunities, progressively taking on greater project responsibility.
