Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) seeks an experienced Bridge Department Manager to lead our Bridge Department at our Wall Township, NJ headquarters. The role combines leadership, technical direction, and business development for major transportation projects across the Northeast.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; NJ license preferred or able to obtain through reciprocity.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in bridge, structural, transportation, or related infrastructure engineering.
• Experience working with NJDOT, transportation authorities, counties, municipalities, and other public‑sector clients is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring of engineering staff and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Bridge Department, including project delivery, staffing, resource allocation, technical quality, and overall department performance.
• Serve as Senior Project Manager and/or Project Manager on complex bridge, transportation, and infrastructure projects from planning through final design, permitting, bidding, and construction support.
• Provide technical leadership on bridge design, rehabilitation, replacement, inspection, load rating, and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Develop, mentor, and manage bridge engineering staff, providing technical guidance and career development.
• Manage client relationships, identify opportunities for additional work, and support business development activities.
