Job summary

Welch Packaging in Bridgeview, IL is seeking an experienced CAD designer to create structural box samples and support Sales promotions. You will review design requirements with Sales, prepare samples on CAD tables or by hand, and produce production specifications while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with safety policies.

Strong knowledge of Artios CAD and familiarity with Kongsberg table are preferred. The role is on-site in Bridgeview.

Qualifications

Associates degree or higher in CAD/drafting or related field; experience may substitute.
3–5 years' experience in corrugated packaging preferred.
Knowledge of Artios CAD, Kongsberg table, or similar tools.
Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Discuss design projects with Sales Representatives and select designs needed; draw designs.
Make samples on CAD table or cut samples by hand.
Record keeping and filing of specifications.
Meet time schedules on projects; overtime may be involved.
Make production specifications from prototype.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping.
Additional duties may be assigned by management.
