Job summary

Welch Packaging in Bridgeview, IL is seeking an experienced CAD designer to create structural box samples and support Sales promotions. You will review design requirements with Sales, prepare samples on CAD tables or by hand, and produce production specifications while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with safety policies.

Strong knowledge of Artios CAD and familiarity with Kongsberg table are preferred. The role is on-site in Bridgeview.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in CAD/drafting or related field; experience may substitute.
• 3–5 years' experience in corrugated packaging preferred.
• Knowledge of Artios CAD, Kongsberg table, or similar tools.
• Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office.

• Discuss design projects with Sales Representatives and be able to select the appropriate designs needed and draw designs.
• Make samples on CAD table or cut samples by hand.
• Record keeping and filing of specifications.
• Meet time schedules on projects with possible overtime involved.
• Make production specifications from prototype.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements/Qualifications

Education:

• Associates degree or higher in the field of computers, CAD, or drafting. Will consider years of experience in lieu of a degree

Experience

• 3-5-years' experience in corrugated preferred
• Knowledge of Artios CAD, Kongsberg table, or similar tools.
• Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office programs.

• May occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas were under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and mandatory hearing protection.
• Work in office located in Bridgeview, Illinois.
