Job summary

Welch Packaging Group Inc. seeks a structural designer to create box samples and support sales promotions. You will discuss projects with Sales Representatives, draft designs, and produce samples on CAD tables or by hand while maintaining accurate specifications.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of corrugated experience and proficiency with Artios CAD, Kongsberg table, and MS Office. Office-based role in Bridgeview, IL with standard hours and potential overtime.

SUMMARY

Responsible for creating structural box samples to assist Sales Representatives in sales promotions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Discuss design projects with Sales Representatives and be able to select the appropriate designs needed and draw designs.
• Make samples on CAD table or cut samples by hand.
• Record keeping and filing of specifications.
• Meet time schedules on projects with possible overtime involved.
• Make production specifications from prototype.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Associates degree or higher in the field of computers, CAD, or drafting. Will consider years of experience in lieu of a degree

Experience

• 3-5-years' experience in corrugated preferred
• Knowledge of Artios CAD, Kongsberg table, or similar tools.
• Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office programs.

Work Environment:

• Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
• May occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas were under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and mandatory hearing protection.
• Work in office located in Bridgeview, Illinois.
