Wallace Design Collective seeks a Kansas City-based Structural Intern Engineer (EIT) to support design for commercial, healthcare, industrial, and multi-family projects. You will work under licensed engineers, transitioning from theory to real-world solutions and contributing to construction documents and BIM models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Passed the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam or scheduled to take it within 6 months.
• Exposure to structural software (RISA-3D, RAM Structural System, SAP2000) and proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD.
• 0–2 years in structural design (Internship counts!).
• Strong technical writing skills and a team-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Structural Analysis: Perform calculations for wood, steel, masonry, and reinforced concrete structures using industry-standard software and hand calculations.
• Design Development: Assist in the creation of construction documents, including drawings, sections, and details.
• BIM Collaboration: Utilize Revit to develop 3D models and coordinate with architectural and MEP partners.
• Site Visits: Participate in field observations and construction administration to see your designs come to life.
• Problem Solving: Collaborate with the project team to resolve technical challenges and ensure code compliance (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI).
