Job summary

Wallace Design Collective is offering a Structural Summer Intern position, where you will work with our team on real commercial, educational, healthcare, and residential projects across the country. You will gain hands-on experience using RAM, RISA-3D, ETABS, and Revit, while assisting in structural design calculations under licensed PE/SE supervision.

This internship emphasizes genuine project involvement rather than busywork, with mentorship integrated into daily activities and opportunities

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural concentration.
• Coursework in structural analysis and basic material design (steel, concrete, wood, masonry).
• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or structural design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in generating structural model geometry, gravity and lateral load analyses using RAM, RISA-3D, or ETABS.
• Draft and model structural components (steel, concrete, masonry, wood) in Revit with project teams.
• Perform foundational design calculations for beams, columns, foundations and connections under PE/SE guidance.
• Interpret building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS) to determine wind, seismic, snow, and live loads.
• Participate in intern sessions, project team meetings, and potential site visits to observe construction progress.
