Job summary

Wallace Design Collective welcomes a Structural Summer Intern to join our diverse team of structural and civil engineers, landscape architects, and surveyors. You’ll work on real commercial, educational, healthcare, and residential projects across the country, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard analysis and modeling software.

You’ll contribute to structural design calculations, BIM modeling in Revit, and collaboration with licensed engineers.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural focus.
Coursework in structural analysis and basic material design (steel, concrete, wood, masonry).
Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or similar structural design software is a plus.
Strong analytical, proactive, and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

Structural Modeling & Analysis: assist in generating structural model geometry and load analyses using RAM, RISA-3D, or ETABS.
BIM & Documentation: model components in Revit alongside project teams.
Engineering Calculations: assist in foundational design calculations under licensed PE/SE supervision.
Code & Load Application: interpret IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NDS to determine wind, seismic, snow, and dead/live loads.
Collaboration & Learning: participate in intern sessions and project team meetings.
