Job summary

IMEG Corp in St. Louis, MO seeks a Structural Engineering Intern for a 10–12 week summer program to support the analysis, design, and implementation of structural systems in buildings and other structures.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers, gain hands-on project experience, assist with documentation, coordination, and site observations across structural, commercial, and institutional markets, and contribute to sustainable design goals including SE2050.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required
• Strong interest in design consulting
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook
• Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural analysis, design, and implementation of structural systems in buildings and other structures within project budget
• Assist with design portions of a project related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards
• Assist with researching resources for projects
• Assist with client relations, project notebook, and documentation for records
• Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines
• Document design decisions and meetings promptly while monitoring progress
• Review project documents for accuracy before final checks
• Assist with addendum preparation and issuance
• Conduct periodic job site observations as required
