Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s structural engineering internship in Wilmington, DE offers hands-on experience on projects for power plants, including design and analysis of steel frames, connections, and foundations.

Students actively enrolled in an ABET-accredited program with coursework in steel and concrete design will gain exposure under experienced engineers, with opportunities to use tools like STAAD, ANSYS, and MathCad.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a strong academic background.
• ABET-accredited program preferred
• Coursework in steel and concrete design preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Review structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, reinforced concrete design.
• Support a team of engineers in structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, supports, and foundations
