Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Charlotte, NC invites engineering interns to join the Structural Engineering team on power plant projects. You will support design calculations, review drawings, and assist in the analysis and detailing of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations under supervision.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Structural/Civil Engineering, with strong math skills, good communication, and familiarity with MS Office. Prior internships are a plus.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a structural/civil engineering degree with strong coursework.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Assist in the review of structural design drawings and vendor drawings.
• Directly apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, reinforced concrete design.
• Be assigned to support a team of engineers and designers in performing structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations.
