Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join our AME Engineering team in Downers Grove, IL. You will assist in developing structural system designs for design/build projects across industrial, self-storage, entertainment, and multi-family facilities.

You will work with a multi-disciplined engineering team, contribute to modeling and detailing, and participate in value engineering to optimize cost and lead times.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering program or related field of study
• Prior industry internship experience is a plus
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design and specify structural systems including load calculations, gravity and lateral analysis, and connections.
• Assist our multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver projects.
• Join projects with other engineering and modeling staff to deliver comprehensive structural design packages.
• Assist in the development of industry-leading automated design methods and tools as part of a forward-thinking, innovation-focused team of engineers and R&D staff.
• Work with our fabrication modeling team to facilitate successful project execution.
• Provide value engineering reviews and alternate design options to maximize cost savings, optimize lead times, and better execute projects.
