Job summary

AME Engineering, part of the ARCO/Murray family, seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist in MEP design, estimation, and coordination for industrial, life sciences, and manufacturing facility projects in Downers Grove, IL. You will work alongside project managers and engineers to learn design principles, create documents, and support energy modeling, with mentorship and structured training provided.

Housing assistance is offered for non-local interns, plus a potential $5,000

Qualifications

• GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher required.
• Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Prior internship exposure is a plus.
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for large-scale facilities in industrial and commercial sectors.
• Review drawings and specs for MEP systems from schematic to construction document phases.
• Assist in developing construction documents.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to specify mechanical systems meeting safety codes.
• Review shop drawings for conformance with specs and contracts.
• Perform energy models for permits and energy studies.
• Coordinate with project team both internally and externally.
