Job summary

AME Engineering, a part of ARCO’s family of construction companies, is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern in Downers Grove, IL. You will help develop structural system design for design/build projects across industries including industrial, self-storage, and entertainment, under mentorship from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities include performing load calculations, aiding in gravity and lateral analyses, and developing structural details and connections.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering program or related field of study.
Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
Prior industry internship experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and specify structural systems including load calculations, gravity and lateral system analysis, structural details, and connections for various projects.
Assist our multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver projects.
Join projects with other engineering and modeling staff to deliver comprehensive structural design packages.
Assist in the development of industry-leading automated design methods and tools as part of a forward-thinking team.
Work with our fabrication modeling team to facilitate successful project execution.
Provide value engineering reviews and alternate design options to maximize cost savings.
Act with integrity that supports the company and meets customer requirements.
