Job summary

ARCO’s AME Engineering internship in Downers Grove, IL offers hands-on Mechanical Engineering experience inside a fast-growing construction family. You will work closely with project managers and MEP design engineers to support industrial, life sciences, and manufacturing facility projects.

The role emphasizes learning design, estimating, and coordination across project phases, with opportunities to develop energy modeling and construction document skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Mechanical Engineering program or related field
• Prior industry internship experience is a plus
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design Mechanical Systems for large-scale buildings in controlled agriculture, industrial, process/manufacturing, and commercial sectors
• Review drawings and specs for MEP systems from schematic to construction documents
• Assist in development of construction documents
• Work with senior engineers to determine system requirements and safety codes
• Review shop drawings for compliance
• Perform energy models for permit and master energy studies
• Interface with project team members internally and externally
