Job summary

IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern in Farmington Hills, MI. Over a 10-12 week summer program, you will assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of structural systems for a variety of building types while working closely with experienced engineers and consultants.

You will collaborate across disciplines, support project documentation and quality reviews, and contribute to work delivered within project budgets and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
• Strong interest in design consulting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural design portions of projects according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching and finding resources related to projects.
• Support client relations, project notebooks, and permanent record documentation.
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and supplier teams.
• Document design decisions and meetings while monitoring progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final checks.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations as required by contract services.
