Job summary

IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern for a 10–12 week summer program in Farmington Hills, MI (with other locations listed). You will assist in analysis, design, and oversight of structural systems on diverse building projects, working closely with experienced engineers.

You’ll support documentation, reviews, and coordination with architectural, electrical, mechanical, and other teams, while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• 2+ years completed towards BS in civil/structural/architectural engineering or equivalent.
• Interest in design consulting and client-facing project work.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural design portions of projects per code and IMEG standards.
• Support project documentation and quality reviews for permanent records.
• Coordinate design and schedules with multi-discipline teams.
• Document decisions, meetings and client instructions; monitor progress.
• Support addendum preparation and periodic site observations.
