Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is seeking current students for a 2027 Internship in our Houston office. Interns work alongside industry-leading engineers to gain hands-on experience applying classroom knowledge to real-world challenges.

As an Intern, you will assist with construction monitoring, field investigations, structural design, and data analysis, while developing testing protocols and client deliverables. Travel and working from heights may be involved.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a civil/structural engineering program.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Interest in hands-on field and office collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction monitoring and field investigations.
• Support structural analysis and design tasks under supervision.
• Organize field data and assist with research to aid analysis.
• Prepare client deliverables and documentation when needed.
• May involve travel and working at heights.
