AME Design Group in Downers Grove, IL, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the full structural scope on design/build projects across industrial, self-storage, and multi-family facilities. You will guide development of structural system designs and coordinate with a multi-disciplined team.

Ideal candidates have 5–15 years of experience in structural design, a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, and a PE/SE licensure or pursuit.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Architectural, or Structural Engineering.
• 5–15 years of design experience with increasing complexity.
• PE or SE licensure preferred; AME Design Group will support pursuit of licensure.
• Expertise with structural software such as Etabs, RAM, SAFE, SAP, Enercalc.
• BIM experience – Revit required; Tekla Structures is a plus.
• Industrial and Warehouse building design experience is a plus.
• Load-bearing and CFMF design experience is a plus.
• Programming experience such as VBA, Python, or C# is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed structural designs for design/build projects across several project-types.
• Design and specify structural systems including load calculations, gravity and lateral analysis, details, and connections.
• Lead projects with engineering and modeling staff to deliver comprehensive design packages.
• Assist in developing automated design methods and tools as part of an innovation-focused team.
• Coordinate with fabrication modeling team to ensure successful project execution.
• Provide value engineering reviews and alternate design options to optimize costs and lead times.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors on technical issues as structural expert.
• Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
