Job summary

Gillespie Precast, LLC in Chestertown, Maryland is seeking a Structural Engineer (PE) – Precast Concrete to join our team. You will design and analyze reinforced and precast concrete structures for infrastructure projects, and, if licensed, stamp calculations and submittals.

You will collaborate with sales, production and project teams, support pre-bid design and estimating efforts, and apply ACI, PCI, and ASTM standards to deliver high-quality engineered solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• PE licensure preferred; EIT candidates encouraged.
• Ability to obtain Maryland PE licensure via reciprocity, if applicable.
• Experience with reinforced concrete design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze reinforced and precast concrete structures.
• Prepare and (if licensed) stamp engineering calculations and submittals.
• Coordinate shop drawings and production documents.
• Support pre-bid design and estimating efforts.
• Collaborate with sales, production, and project teams.
• Optimize designs for efficiency and manufacturability.
• Review work from external engineering consultants.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams.
• Apply ACI, PCI, and ASTM standards.
• Support product development and innovation.
• Assist with custom formwork design.
• Participate in technical presentations.
• Contribute to quality control troubleshooting.
• Mentor EITs and junior engineers.
