Job summary

Metromont Corporation is seeking an engineer to design precast concrete systems and components with a focus on cost efficiency. You will review drawings, coordinate with drafters and project teams, and ensure compliance with standards.

The role requires a PE license and 3–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in precast. Occasional plant visits and safe production practices are part of daily work.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis preferred; PE certification required.
• 3–7 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in precast/concrete.
• Experience with engineering design software and CAD tools.
• Ability to work independently or in a team and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and details for all products and connections.
• Independently manage design aspects of projects with minimal guidance.
• Review contract documents to understand project requirements.
• Attend project meetings and possibly lead coordination sessions.
• Prepare and review RFIs; resolve design issues independently.
• Ensure designs comply with Metromont standards and processes.
• Review erection drawings and shop tickets for accuracy.
• Be aware of production processes through plant visits.
• Obtain licensure in states where work is performed and stamp drawings as needed.
• Evaluate design costs against estimates and take appropriate action.
• Complete repairs without assistance and support others as needed.
• Adhere to Metromont and OSHA safety rules.
