Job summary

Peckham Industries, Inc. seeks a Chief Engineer (Precast) to lead structural engineering for precast concrete products, primarily parking structures. The role requires a PE license, 10+ years in leadership, and expertise in precast design. Travel up to 10% may be needed to NY/NE sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
PE license required; must obtain license in NY/NJ/NE states within 1 year.
10+ years of structural engineering experience with leadership in precast/construction.
Expertise in precast concrete design, especially parking structures.
Experience managing internal teams and coordinating with third‑party subcontractors.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, SAP2000, ETabs, Eriksson, and Salmons Technologies.
Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Lead internal engineering team and coordinate with third‑party firms to ensure timely and accurate designs.
Oversee design of new precast concrete structures and repair/retrofit solutions; approve calculations, drawings, and specs.
Ensure compliance with codes and standards; develop QA processes and integrate new tech into standards.
Support sales with engineering insights during proposals and pre‑sales activities.
Collaborate with Plant/Production to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency of designs.
Manage multiple projects, communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Travel up to 10% to NY and New England offices as needed.
