Job summary

United Employment Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with PE certification to lead technically complex projects and mentor a team of engineers. The role emphasizes independent design, review of calculations, and coordination with contractors and internal teams.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in structural engineering, precast concrete design, and the ability to stamp drawings in applicable jurisdictions as required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Prec/Tast? precast concrete engineering design knowledge preferred.
• BS Civil Engineering required; structural emphasis preferred.
• PE Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and details for all products and connections.
• Independently perform lateral analysis and design; troubleshoot and check laterals.
• Lead project teams.
• Independently manage engineering design aspects of a project with minimal guidance.
• Review contract documents to be familiar with project requirements.
• Attend project meetings and lead coordination meetings.
• Write and review complex RFIs.
• Resolve design issues and assist others with solving engineering problems.
• Serve as point of contact for engineers and subcontractors for complex questions.
• Check design calculations and details for accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Review erection drawings and shop tickets to ensure designs and standards are followed.
• Be aware of production through plant visits and meetings.
• Become licensed in states where engineering work is performed.
