Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional in the USA West region with a focus on design and analysis for complex industrial facilities. You will develop design concepts, perform analysis, and collaborate with multi‑discipline teams to deliver high‑quality structural solutions.

You will progress under senior guidance, gaining experience across wind and seismic design, while advancing workflows and adopting new tools. Excellent communication and collaboration are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• MS degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering (preferred).
• Experience with structural analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam.
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
• Experience in semiconductor industrial or general industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform all conventional aspects of structural analysis and design under supervision.
• Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in evaluating engineering techniques.
• Exercise sound engineering judgement and problem‑solving; seek guidance when needed.
• Apply lateral analysis and design provisions per building codes (wind/seismic).
• Maintain high attention to detail and quality control.
• Check others' work and mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Manage workload, meet schedule, and own assigned scope.
• Forecast level of effort and identify scope changes with the Structural Lead.
• Collaborate to advance workflows, systems, and tools within structural discipline.
