Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking an Engineer to analyze and develop structural specifications for Naval systems. The role involves dynamic analyses, coordination with cross-functional teams, and supporting naval shock and vibration qualifications.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree with 0 years of professional experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop structural engineering specifications for metal, non-metallic or composite materials used in naval designs.
• Perform dynamic structural (shock) analyses using FEM tools and hand calculations.
• Coordinate with design, test, construction teams and external customers (NAVSEA, Electric Boat, vendors).
• Support shock and vibration qualification, static and dynamic analyses for naval structures.
