Job summary
HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding seeks engineers to analyze structural specifications for naval platforms, including submarines and aircraft carriers. You will perform dynamic analyses, develop structural models, and coordinate with design, test, and NAVSEA partners using tools like CATIA, IDEAS, Pro/Engineer and FEMAP/Abaqus. Qualifications include ABET-accredited engineering degrees with related experience; relocation is available.
U.S. citizenship may be required for certain roles.

- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
- Master’s Degree with 0 year of relevant professional experience.
- U.S. citizenship may be required for certain positions.
- Relocation assistance is available.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, research and develop structural engineering specifications for products and systems.
- Perform dynamic structural analyses using FE methods and report results.
- Coordinate with design, test, and customers (NAVSEA, vendors).
- Support shock and vibration analysis and foundation design.
