Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a licensed structural engineer to lead analysis and design of steel, concrete and masonry systems in Buffalo, NY. You will work under licensed supervision to deliver design documents and BIM models for multiple projects.

Responsibilities include calculations, code awareness, coordination with the design team, and client interfacing. Travel and overtime may be required as projects demand, with a strong emphasis on quality and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current PE and/or SE license in the United States.
• LEED AP is preferred.
• Experience with concrete and steel.
• Knowledge of IBC and national codes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience with engineering design software (Revit, RAM, RISA).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform structural engineering tasks on multiple projects.
• Coordinate with design team to integrate structural systems with building design.
• Perform design calculations and document structural systems.
• Develop BIM models in Revit for contract documents.
• Review shop drawings and calculations for accuracy.
• Interface with clients and participate in meetings.
• Conduct field observations during construction.
• Assist in defining project budgets and scope.
