Job summary

DLR Planning LLC seeks a Structural Engineer Associate to support M&O – A/E Services for education facilities. The role requires at least three years of structural engineering experience and a bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering, with a preference for California PE.

The position is on-site in Los Angeles, CA, with no relocation funds. The candidate will review plans, perform analyses, and prepare reports, cost estimates, and feasibility studies while collaborating with

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of full-time paid professional structural engineering experience.
• Experience with school building construction is preferred.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and review structural plans, calculations, estimates, and reports.
• Review work by consultants and architects; provide recommendations or revisions.
• Assist with design and layout of foundations, floors, walls, roofs, and framing systems.
• Evaluate conformance with standards and constructability of structural work.
• Provide recommendations to contractors and inspectors during construction.
• Review soils data and environmental docs for foundation design.
• Prepare feasibility studies, preliminary designs, and cost estimates.
• Conduct site investigations and scoping reports.
