Cumming Group is seeking a Structural Engineer Associate in Los Angeles, CA to work on education projects nationwide. You will collaborate with project leaders to deliver premier educational facilities for K-12 and higher education institutions.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering, at least three years of experience, and a PE license is preferred. The team emphasizes quality design, rigorous analysis, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering.
• Minimum of three years full-time professional experience in structural engineering.
• Prior experience on school building construction is preferred.
• Possession of a PE license recognized by the CA Board is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews design plans, specifications, estimates and reports.
• Reviews structural services and makes revisions/recommendations.
• Prepares structural design plans, cost estimates for concrete, steel, timber and masonry structures.
• Assists in reviewing project status and advising staff.
• Reviews calculations and design for conformance and feasibility.
• Designs foundation, floor, wall and roof framing layouts for major structures.
• Provides guidance on structural issues during construction.
• Analyzes environmental reports and soils data for foundation design.
• Prepares feasibility reports and preliminary design for proposed structures.
• Performs site investigations and scoping reports.
• Performs other related duties.
