Job summary

DLR Planning, LLC in Southern California seeks a Structural Engineer Associate to support Maintenance & Operations – A&E services, performing design review, calculations, and site evaluations for district facilities.

Qualified candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a primary focus on structural engineering, and have at least three years of full-time, paid experience. California PE is preferred; on-site, long-term role with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of full-time, paid professional structural engineering experience.
• Experience involving school building construction is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a specialization in structural engineering coursework.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and review structural plans, calculations, estimates, and reports.
• Review structural services by consultants and architects and provide revisions as needed.
• Assist with design and layout of foundations, floors, walls, roofs, and framing systems for major buildings.
• Evaluate conformance with standards, constructability, and accuracy of structural work.
• Provide recommendations to contractors, architects, engineers, and inspectors during construction.
• Review soils data and environmental documentation for foundation design.
