Job summary

Stantec in Plano, TX is seeking an enthusiastic Structural EIT to join our team of engineers and designers. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience developing structural designs, drawings, models, and project documentation under the guidance of seasoned professionals.

You will work on diverse building projects, applying building codes, learning design software such as Revit, RAM, Tekla, and Enercalc, and collaborating with architects and other disciplines to deliver quality design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering or architectural engineering.
• Pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam to obtain EIT credential by day one of employment.
• 0–3 years of relevant structural design or drafting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports project teams in developing structural design documentation, plans, models, and reports.
• Assists in developing structural designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, calculations, and other formats.
• Uses BIM to develop 3D models of building structural systems.
• Prepares and revises drawings during various project phases (floor plans, framing plans, sections, details).
• Performs basic structural calculations under supervision of experienced engineers.
• Assists with coordination of structural designs with architectural and other disciplines.
• Reviews shop drawings and submittals and prepares RFIs responses.
• Supports site observations and field reports as needed.
• Attends project coordination meetings with internal and external teams.
• Applies design standards and building codes under direction of engineers.
