Job summary

Stantec is seeking a motivated Structural EIT in Miami, FL to join our Buildings team. You will support the development of structural designs, drawings, models, and documentation under the supervision of experienced engineers, contributing to projects of various sizes.

Ideal candidates have foundational knowledge in structural engineering, experience with Revit, and a willingness to learn new design software and codes.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of structural engineering and design principles.
• Familiarity with gravity and lateral force-resisting systems.
• Knowledge of structural materials: steel, concrete, masonry, wood.
• Familiarity with building codes and structural design standards.
• Understanding of construction drawings and engineering docs.
• Ability to interpret plans, sections, and structural models.
• Ability to check own work and manage tasks to meet schedules.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support development of structural design documents, plans, models, and reports.
• Assist in development of structural designs through sketches, diagrams, and calculations.
• Use BIM to develop 3D models of building structural systems.
• Prepare and revise drawings during project phases (floor plans, framing plans, sections).
• Perform basic structural calculations under supervision.
• Coordinate designs with architectural and other engineering disciplines.
• Review shop drawings and RFIs, prepare responses.
• Assist with site observations and field reports as needed.
• Join project coordination meetings with internal/external teams.
• Apply design standards and building codes under guidance.
