Job summary

ARCO Companies is seeking a Structural Designer to join our team in Richmond Heights, MO. This role supports project engineers through design development, calculations, and documentation for construction submittals.

You will collaborate with PMs, architects, and drafting staff to deliver efficient, compliant solutions. The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis and 0–2 years of design experience, with strong AutoCAD and Excel skills; Revit and RAM/SAP/RISA

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and a minimum 3.2 GPA.
• Entry level to 2 years of structural engineering building design experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with project managers during estimating to optimize structural solutions.
• Prepare preliminary and structural building design for projects across the country.
• Produce structural calculations for construction documents and permits.
• Coordinate with design staff, PMs, architects, and clients to find cost-effective solutions.
• Provide peer reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants (RAE) is a full-service structural engineering firm established in 1993. RAE offers a full-range of professional engineering services, including project planning and feasibility studies, conceptual design, design development, construction document preparation, and construction phase services.

We are looking for a Structural Designer to join our team of experts in our office in Richmond Heights, MO. A Day in the Life:

• Work with construction project managers during the estimating process to optimize creative structural solutions that align to the project needs
• Prepare preliminary and structural buildingdesign for projects across the country
• Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical design/drafting staff during preparation of construction documents for permit submittal as well as construction
• Communicate with technical design/drafting staff. Coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, mechanical, clients and other project team members to find creative solutions to structural building elements
• Provide peer reviews of design drawings to ensure accuracy and find creative solutions or alternative design suggestions to save on cost and/or design schedule

Necessary Qualifications:

• BS in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA
• Entry level to 2 years of structural engineering building design experience
• Knowledge of AutoCAD required. Strong Excel skills required. Revit experience preferred, not required
• Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA is helpful but not required
